Control systems are prevalent in everyday life and in industrial processes: the concept of feedback control is used in automobiles, aeroplanes, washing machines, elevators, as well as medical treatment and complex chemical and manufacturing processes.  On that account, this course is targeted to convey a basic understanding of feedback control systems for electrical and communications engineering students.

This course provides and introduction to the analysis and design of feedback systems. Topics covered include: properties and advantages of feedback control systems, time-domain and frequency-domain modeling, stability analysis, root locus method, Nyquist criterion, basic controller design techniques, application examples.
